STRONGAND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Out of the 20 years, Mr Gershom Kombe worked for Bank of Zambia, 16 years was at Senior Management Level, Assistant Director – ICT Operations (responsible for ICT Infrastructure- – Computers, Banknote counting machines and network communication). Mr Kombe was privileged to sit on the committee that procured currency for the country. The procurement committee prepared technical specification and evaluated bids from the giants in Banknote Printing.
With this experience, you can see that our Motto ‘We know the Banknote, you can trust us with your cash’ was carefully formulated.
Before joining Bank of Zambia in 1992, Mr Kombe had worked for Standard Chartered Bank (6 years) and earlier for ZCCM – Mufulira Division (6 years) At Standard Chartered Bank. Mr Kombe was one of the pioneers of the Information Technology Department, based at SCB Head office. The team implemented the Bank Master application across all the Standard Chartered Bank Branches in Zambia, running on Local Area Networks from Chingola to Livingstone.
BRANCH OPERATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY
6.1 Mr Kombe will lead strategy and technology.
6.2 We understand that no serious business will survive today without Technology. Mr Kombe is CGEIT Certified in Governance of Enterprises IT (CobiT) by ISACA of USA.
6.3 We understand the importance of using technology to drive today’s business. Technology is a business enabler. We have therefore deployed technology to deliver value in our business set up as follows:
6.3.1 CCTV (with remote access) for security monitoring. I am able to view the activities in the office from home.
6.3.2 Internet access via Wi-Fi. We are able to access our Agency banking accounts with banks using our computers and monitor transactions as they happen (Real time).
6.3.3 We are using Bluetooth technology to achieve communication between devices within the office. There is no cabling used.
6.3.4 We have a Smart Tv to display customer information such as Banknote security features.
6.3.5 As Jenkom Financial Solutions Limited, we believe that deployment of technology will position us to compete favourably in the Agency market space.
6.3.6 We have set-up a technology support Office at our Avondale home in order to support our business with various technology requirements. The office is manned by one technician at the moment.

Director
Gershom Kombe devoted 20 years to the Bank of Zambia, with 16 in senior management as Assistant Director of ICT Operations.
